Fisher Labs M-101 Industrial Metal Detector

The Fisher Labs M101 Rebar Locator and Metal Probe was designed specifically for finding reinforcing bars and other metal objects embedded in concrete, conduits, PK nails, wiring, wall studs and other metallic objects. The M-101 will respond to all types of metal (rebar, wire mesh, metal conduit, metallic trash, metallic targets on the opposite side of surface to be scanned, etc.) Using a small search coil that provides a concentrated search signal, the M-101 offers accuracy to 1/4 in. of the centerline of the rebar. For most operations, only the penetration control needs to be adjusted to allow maximum penetration depth for metals. A preset circuit eliminates ground effects caused by highly mineralized materials and false signals due to loop movement.

The M-101 also can effectively locate small metal items carried on or within a person and is substantially more sensitive than the average low cost metal detectors used at airports, so that a given metal item can be found at a greater distance from the search loop itself. Searches in water may be up to the control box, as the search loop and cord are waterproof.

Sonic Echo - FTG-1 (Foundation Test Gauge)

Sonic Echo (SE) investigations are performed to evaluate to integrity and determine the length of deep foundations. The test can also be performed on shallow wall structures.
The SE test can be performed on concrete, wooden and steel piles.

Applications
The applications for Sonic Echo tests are varied:

  • Structural investigations where foundation depth is unknown
  • Assessing the condition of foundations
  • Investigation of damage to foundations
  • Investigation of bulbs in foundations
  • Inclusion of soil or water in cast piles
  • Uncured or week concrete in cast piles

How it Works
In a test with the FTG1, the foundation top is struck by a hammer and the response of the foundation is monitored by an accelerometer.

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge

Ultrasonic Thickness Gauges provide the ability to measure the thickness of many type of materials in a non destructive manner.

The Handheld Ultrasonic Thickness Gauge sends an ultrasonic pulse signal via a transducer at a known sound velocity through the material, and measures the time taken for the signal (echo) to bounce back. The transducer and test surface are coupled using a water-based Couplant Gel that removes the air gap.

Metal thickness and plastic thickness are very common materials tested but almost any material can be tested, provided it has a known sound velocity. We offer various gauge options and a full range of accessories and replacement parts.
